BEACH

BEACH
Under the scorching sunlight and the heavy gusts, our feet were sinking into the shallow, white sand. The rippling waves rolled upon and broke itself on the steep coastline, and the backflow of the salty water took vast amounts of freckled sands amid its energetic motion.

Our bare footsteps got imprinted upon the dense sand, which would only disappear when the waves would wash it ashore. The gleaming grainy sand was reflecting shimmering amounts of light, forming mirages towards the far end of the coastal strip. Dormant, spiny starfishes and seashells of all different shades were littered along the boundary the highest tide approached.

On both sides of the length of the coast, protruding rocky headlands appeared, followed by chalky arch, stumps and solitary stumps of rock in the middle of the sea. The palm trees were leaning upon each other   like exhausted men, the sound of their leaves shuffling upon one another echoing on the vertical dark brown cliffs all over the vicinity.

The salty fresh air tingled our nose linings occasionally, while the warm sand below gave satisfactory warmth.  Wave rolled and broke at our foot, forming a thick sticky sand layer on the palm of the foot; only discomfort coming from it being irritably stubborn below my long, dirty toenails.
