BRIBING VICE

Bribing is to persuade someone to act in one’s favor illegally or dishonestly, by enticing them with gifts or money. This takes place in various settings such as; 

1.      SCHOOLS

Many parents  are so lenient with their children, as far as giving pocket money, don’t  bother  to  ask  their  son  or  daughter  how  they  use  the  money  that  they  are  given  ,and also  don’t  bother  to  ask  what  deals  they  make   with  other  students. Students are spending Money in various activities such as for drugs and bribing other students for favors. 

Such is the case in schools that students nowadays engage in such misconduct. There is need for call for sensitization on the after effects. It is common practice to see students bribing   fellow student or classmate, to do their homework in this era and time.

Schools  have  become  a  market place  where  exchange  offers  are  being  made  every day for various purposes. There have been emerging cases of Teachers being enticed by money offers to part with examinations papers or help students in Sit in exams.  In the process, students spend huge sum of money for bribery purposes. Exam  time  is  also  another  time  when  this  happens  as  students  ask the  teachers  for  the  exam  papers .

It is also common for students’ and parents in high end schools to bribe teachers to escape punishment or for favours regarding their children.  A game is a good opportunity for students to exercise and explore their talents. However, some  people  who  are  very  ‘crazy’ for  sports,  bribe  the  captain  of  their  team to keep  them  in  the school team.  Some  people  also  bribe  the   prefects  to  remove  their  name  from  the  noise  makers  list. They also bribe fellow students to do their homework, buy them stuff, buy friendship etc.

General bribing trends in the country:

DURING POLICE CASES

when  someone  is  caught  by  the  police  for  crimes  such  as  driving under the influence of alcohol, over speeding , hit  and  run  or  accidents , people  bribe  their way out. The  police  is  a  symbol  of  justice  but  they  are  now  forgetting  their  duties  and  driving  the  country  to  corruption. . The  policemen  also  get  bribed  instead  of  arresting  them, yet they are supposed to be the ‘custodian’ of the law.

IN GOVERNMENT OFFICES

When  an  illegal  transaction  like  importing  and  exporting  of   guns  or  drugs  is  to  be  made  bribing  has  a  major  role. Although  some  government officers  don’t  do  this, many do  this  even  though  they  know  it’s  not  good  and  may  lead  to the death  of  thousands  of  people. They  should  know  that  out  of those  thousand  people   some  may  be  their  relatives,  family  members  or  also  their  friends.

LET’S STOP OUR COUNTRY FROM CORRUPTION!
