AN UNEXPECTED ORDEAL
‘Watch
your back’ your skin colour is enough for you to enrage them’ the shopkeeper
advised me. I was petrified by his statement. Is this why my wife was killed? I
had so many lingering questions running through my mind. I had to think quickly
if I was to stay out of trouble.
As
I padded away, little did I notice that the darkness of the night had dawn down
its shady covers on the last of the fading light? Though only for a while did I
feel at peace as the rusting of leaves being blown away on the empty streets
added to the already peaceful environment. The odd breeze passed through
bringing me out of trance. It was only then that I realized I had walked a long
way alone and probably by passed the motel.
When
this reality downed upon me I become panic stricken. My fingers become numb and
my feet were cold. Was I lost in the big city? I mean, I had barely spent 48
hours here. This was too much to handle.
In
a split of a second, the sirens and alarms of police cars could be heart from a
distance. ‘What to do? I wondered, panic engulfed every single membrane within
me as drips of sweat cascaded profusely my ruddy visage. As if bottled to the
grand my mobility was crippled, my mind
rendered useless as I was not able to implement any thought that came through.
In
the process of regaining myself , I
was needless to say i was surrounded by the police , I had lost all hope
as there was nowhere to go,
To
