AN UNEXPECTED ORDEAL

‘Watch your back’ your skin colour is enough for you to enrage them’ the shopkeeper advised me. I was petrified by his statement. Is this why my wife was killed? I had so many lingering questions running through my mind. I had to think quickly if I was to stay out of trouble.

As I padded away, little did I notice that the darkness of the night had dawn down its shady covers on the last of the fading light? Though only for a while did I feel at peace as the rusting of leaves being blown away on the empty streets added to the already peaceful environment. The odd breeze passed through bringing me out of trance. It was only then that I realized I had walked a long way alone and probably by passed the motel.

When this reality downed upon me I become panic stricken. My fingers become numb and my feet were cold. Was I lost in the big city? I mean, I had barely spent 48 hours here. This was too much to handle.

In a split of a second, the sirens and alarms of police cars could be heart from a distance. ‘What to do? I wondered, panic engulfed every single membrane within me as drips of sweat cascaded profusely my ruddy visage. As if bottled to the grand   my mobility was crippled, my mind rendered useless as I was not able to implement any thought that came through.
In the process of regaining  myself , I was  needless to say i was  surrounded by the police , I had lost all hope as there  was nowhere  to go,
