FIREWORK DISPLAY
Everyone’s eyes are starring deep into the night sky, soon to be brought
to life as the clock ticks by. It is a perfectly cloudless night, with dim
stars visible despite the bright city lights. Telescopic camera lenses have all
taken stance towards only one direction, as if the only way is up.
Swoosh! There goes the rocket against the force of gravity,
creating explosive sounds. For a moment, everyone thought they are in a battlefield
engulfed in sounds of flying bullets and swinging rockets. Their fiery trails
locked the gaze of the thousands of eyes present there, like a comets tail
burning as it gets too hot.
For a second in mid – air, it seemed as if the rockets had
disappeared into thin air abruptly. But no, the first patch of vivid colours
burst into life just the way a flower buds pops up in spring. The fiery traces
glittered intensely as they broke off from
the point of incarnation, and in the process warmly illuminated the dull, void
sky.
A second wave of rockets dispatched loudly , this
time bursting and taking the
shape of a hexagonal ice flake , whose
six sides further went ahead with a glowing tail , then busted into six smaller ice flakes . This time they were smaller, but
collectively brighter and charmed the awed public in sheer memorization.
As excitement reached its peak level, clicking flashes were
visible from the crowd, with phones facing higher than anyone’s eyes. The
colours of blue, orange, red and yellow had bled the sky with a sharp, lively
spark. The blend of colours sent currents down my spine, provoking goose bumps
on every part of my body.
